I think I might try my hand at other stuff, after the madness and mayhem quiets down. Speaking of mayhem, FOUR days till Britt's birthday!!! Here is a sneak peek at some of the goodies!

Photobucket

Punch stuff, dips and chips. They have to go here in the office otherwise our REALLY REALLY huge R-A-T-S will eat it all before the party!

Photobucket

Ahh the good stuff. I wonder what is in those cans???? M and M's for markers for bingo that was customized for Britt!!! Prizes are somewhere in there too heheh...

Blessed day all, off to stitch and relax.

Good morning/afternoon! Lots going on here, getting ready for our oldest daughter's sweet 16 this Saturday! Weather was rainy all weekend but today the sun is out, a perfect fall day!

I stitched a bit on Happy Smile Day. I am still loving the colors on this one!

Recipe: Great Northern Bean Chili

Well if you are having the kind of weather that we are, this is PERFECT for today!

2 pounds boneless skinless chicken breasts, cut into 1-inch cubes
1 tablespoon canola oil
1 jar (48 ounces) great northern beans, rinsed and drained
1 jar (16 ounces) salsa
1 can (14 1/2 ounces) chicken broth
1 teaspoon ground cumin, optional
2 cups (8 ounces) shredded Monterey Jack cheese

1. In a large skillet, brown chicken in oil; drain. In a 4- or 5-qt. slow cooker, combine the beans, salsa, broth, cumin if desired and chicken. Cover and cook on low for 4-6 hours or until chicken is tender. Serve with cheese. Yield: 8 servings

I like to put sour cream on my chili, and would be yummy with some kind of crusty bread or cornbread.

Here is some tips that are the bottom of the page I found interesting.

Choose the correct size slow cooker for your recipe. A slow cooker should be from half to two-thirds full. While cooking, try not to lift the lid. Every time you lift the lid, steam escapes and you add 15 to 30 minutes of cooking time.

Gooo purple scorpions!!!

Today was soccer day! It was a bit cloudy and it didn't really start to rain till the 4th quarter which is awesome. We have been blessed with really good weather for this soccer season. Usually the first game is awesome and it is all downhill after that. But we only have 2 games left and we are just now a bit cold.

Hunter has been DYING to play goalie so they put him in during the 2nd quarter. So without further ado here he is in all his glory!

They won 1-0! Way to go scorpions!

Yesterday I worked on SMO Happy Smile Day. I just LOVE the colors in this piece. They are so happy and vibrant, you can't HELP but smile when you are stitching it.

So Brittany is in Seattle for a couple of days checking out where she wants to go to school and visiting with a friend of our's. Jeff is working today, so that leaves the rest of us to staying warm and dry .. playing Wii, watching movies and relaxing.. maybe we will clean later, see how I feel lol..Blessed day all.

So, I can't make up my mind, I love talking about books BUT I really miss not sharing my daily stitching. So the stitching won out, for now anyway!

So I would like to share a few pictures of what I have been up to. Both pieces are San Man Originals..

This one is 2010 Halloween Quaker SAL. I used the called for DMC and 18 ct rustic aida. I just love this fabric!

The next one is Fall, and I used the called for DMC and some kind of 18 ct aida..

So we leveled our backyard and then my husband put in a brand new sprinkler system. So we have the backyard fenced off so the dogs don't get into the seed. The other day was beautiful and the sprinklers had just ran. So some birds decided to enjoy the water that pooled a bit. They were so cute I just had to take some pictures.
