Review: heart of the matter by Emily Giffin

Going to be a BIG hit in 2010! This book will have you going between 2 women, Tessa and Valerie. Tessa is a married mother of 2, not sure where she fits in this world. Motherhood is demanding, and being a wife of a surgeon who works long hours has left Tessa wondering if this is what it is supposed to be like. Then comes Valerie, a single mother, who has worked hard to be everything to her son. However their lives mix when an accident at a slumber party leaves Charlie scarred physically and his savior Dr. Russo enters.

However, Nick Russo and Valerie start spending too much time together and one thing leads to another.

It gets so good in this book, you can't possibly put it down the last hundred pages so you can find out if Nick chooses his family or Valerie and her son and what happens when you make such decisions.

Love, loss, anger, all these emotions are present. Find out what Tessa will do when Nick tells her the truth and find out how they all come to terms with the truth!

This read will be everywhere this year. Sure to bit a hit this summer! You shouldn't miss out!!!

Review: The Scent of Rain and Lightning by Nancy Pickard

The Scent of Rain and Lightning:

Memorable.. this book is so refreshing and makes you remember why you read books. Nothing like a good book to escape to. We go back and forth in time, just a bit but it flows so nice, you won't even notice, you will become so deep in Jody's life and the whole Linder family.

You will want to find out if Billy really did murder Hugh-Jay and Laurie, or perhaps it was one of the brothers on accident? Maybe Laurie did it, was a thought of mine.

Jody is a really believable, likable character and you will find yourself right alongside her.

Enjoy this one, it goes by quickly! I will be checking out Ms. Pickard's other books, she is a wonderful writer!

Make sure you get your hands on this book! You WON'T want to miss out. Nancy Pickard is a master storyteller and will have you guessing the entire time!!!!!!!!!!!!

Tons of good books!

Good March morning! Spring is here. Things have been trying to come up for awhile here now, and now they are showing some color!! It sure does smell like spring too!

Today, I am going to talk about one of my favorite all time authors. Adriana Trigiani. Her latest, Brava, Valentine hit the shelves last month. This book is the second in a series about a wonderful character you will fall in love with, Valentine. Valentine is single, and her grandmother is remarrying and moving to Italy to leave Valentine in charge of the family business of shoe making. However, a surprise that Alfred, Valentine's older know it all brother will be her partner.

Can she make it work and make the business grow at the same time? What happens with Valentine's love life? All these questions will be answered as Valentine uncovers a family secret.

Trigiani's writing leaves you begging for more and you will be waiting anxiously like me for the next part!!!!!!!!!!

If you love to read, read Forbidden Falls. You won't regret it! I want to get all the other ones now, they are super fast reads but so good!!!!! Check out my review on Goodreads or Amazon ---

Now I am reading An Irish Country Girl by Patrick Taylor. I have read and reviewed his others in the series, so I am looking forward to this one. It is a bit off of the 2 doctors, instead the story of the housekeeper, Kinky -- So far I love it!

Raining lots here today, so a good day to read :) -- Heck what day isn't a good day to read? LOL

So I have an exciting new author to me! Robyn Carr, wonderful wonderful read so far. I guess I am in the middle of the series but I think they stand alone --- I am reading Forbidden Falls, and it is so enticing.

I hope to finish it today. The reading flows so easily and smoothly pages go by like sand through my hand! Before I knew it I was on page 100 after 20 minutes!

I went on Amazon to see about her other books, seems like I missed out on the previous ones, and then there are 2 more coming out in Feb and March!!!! Have to watch out for those as well!

Ahhh the life of a reader, so many books so little time!

Dad is gone for 8 more days to lineman camp. When he comes back, that weekend is a 4 day weekend for everyone! Also it will be his birthday and Valentine's Day! I know it will be a good time for everyone.

The weather sure is weird! I miss the sun!

I am off to read more of this fantastic book, but I look forward to visiting other blogs, see what everyone is reading and catch up! Have a fantabulous Tuesday!

Good morning! I keep thinking it is Monday! This week is going to mess me up! Anyway, what are you reading? I finished Get Outta My Face by Rick Horne. What a blessing. -- A must read for biblical counseling in the face of today's problems with teenagers.

Now I am on to Unfinished Desires by Gail Godwin. Should be an excellent book. I am excited to read this one!

Sunday we had an awesome day! After church Tracy and Wesley came over. Tracy and I played hand and foot. Then after evening church LennaDee and Caitlin came over and I taught her! We had such a fab time. Then yesterday Caitlin came over for awhile to play with Lex, Ellie had Lacey to play with (she spent the night) and then Tracy came over, we dyed our hair. I can't wait to show it. Hilarious!!! We will stick with liquid dye and not creme! I hope it fades a bit.. lol

So I hope you have a blessed day. Happy reading!

We had such a wonderful time yesterday. The girls did too! Hunter's birthday party was a success. 6 kids showed up. Whew they are a LOT of work! Boys bouncing off the walls, literally! We played games, had pizza, opened presents, bowled and then ate ice cream cake. The bowling alley gave Hunter one of the pins from the lane and had all his friends autograph it for a keepsake. Isn't that awesome!!!

Jeff and I played the WII after we got home last night. Hunter had gone to a friend's, so it was just Ellie, Jeff and I. Jeff boxed so hard he had sweat coming down his face!!!! LOL

Today is church. Then after that, Tracy and LennaDee are coming over to play hand and foot. LennaDee wanted to learn and Caitlyn is spending the night. (They are in the middle of a quick move so I am not 100% on all of this YET!) If they don't come over, I will read my book, Get Outta My Face by Rick Horne.

Have a blessed Sunday. I have no stitchy pictures to show, didn't do anything last night!
