Thank goodness it is over! What was promising from the blurb on the back cover to be a good book, quickly fell short. A multigenerational love/war story, gone bad quickly.

Agnes and Pierre are engaged to other people, but they get married despite all the controversy. Simone, who Pierre was engaged to becomes an owner in his family factory, instead of Pierre. Pierre's grandpa can't forgive him for marrying Agnes.

And the story goes on, and on and on. Underneath all these boring layers, I feel there is a sweeping love story, something beautiful. However I think it got lost in translation.

Still, I smile, because it is over.
