Holy smokes. Talk about a nail biter! It appears the Kanes are the perfect family. Dad, Gordon is a police officer. By all accounts, he appears to be the perfect husband and father as well. Jillian is an ok mom, but doesn't get involved in the kids' school life, seems to be more into her work life.

But what happens behind closed doors. The abuse no one talks about. Everyone hides. When Jillian has had enough, one night, she tells Gordon when they are in the garage in the car she is going to leave them, and she is shocked when he says ok. Then he walks into the house. But Jill should have known it wasn't going to be so simple. He locked her out. Then things get worse. She kidnaps the children, so to speak, and hides out, until Addie is really ill and has to go to the hospital. Turns out she has cancer.

So Jillian is arrested. She is released on bail. Her friend, Connor, is an attorney and tells her basically they need to "declaw the tiger".

Find out how it all goes down in this thrilling book!! I loved each page. I couldn't help but tell all those around me what was going on and then eagerly get back to it. This would make an excellent movie!!
