for Hunter anyway! A bit of quiet! So nice. We got back from camping yesterday afternoon. Just Ellie, Bubba, Jeff and I went. Lex and Britt stayed with different friends of their's. We had a good time. Dirty and no flushing toilets or showers. Lots of good trout though!
Warm during the day cool in the mornings and evenings. Beautiful. Sheila and I took a walk around the lake and ended up in quicksand. The more she laughed the more she got stuck. It was hilarious. I fell too in mud. We told Big Jeff and Jeff that they missed some mud-wrestling LOL...
I haven't stitched much YET either. Been making lots of phone calls today and doing lots of laundry. Sure good to be home!
Soccer starts, I am just really loving this time of year! Happy Autumn/fall ya'll!!!

On the road again..
Well happy end of August! I am not sure if anyone can read my blog or not. If so, would you be so kind as to let me know?? Thank you!!
We have been having such a good time this summer. My dad and stepmom came for a week around my birthday. That was awesome. We went to the coast, we had lots of good food, and just played games and enjoyed each other.
Then Britt went to teen camp for a week. As soon as she got back, we headed out. We went to Wyoming first to see my grandma and uncles. Then we ate breakfast with my mom in Colorado. All along the way we have been camping. We got a pop up trailer. It has been fun! Then we were in Oklahoma visiting Jeff's mom and stepdad and grandma. We had a really good time, really hot though!
Then Britt and Ellie stayed there and Jeff, Hunter, Lex and I went up to South Dakota and took in the sights at Mount Rushmore etc. How beautiful. The Wind Cave was AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!! We had a really neat time. Lots of laughing.
We went to Montana and got Britt and Ellie last weekend. Tomorrow we are heading out to go camping with some friends. Lex and Britt aren't going.
I haven't done much in the way of stitching while traveling but I sure have missed it so I am sitting here browsing others' blogs and doing a bit.
Well I hope to hear from someone. I don't know what I did to my blog!!! Talk soon!!

June WHAT???
What the heck? Where has 2009 gone? I blinked, that is what happened. Here's to hoping you can read this! We have been super busy! Lex has had softball, and Jeff has been helping coach. They haven't won but one game, but they try super hard and have fun doing it. She loves it! She is really good too.
I just came back from women's retreat. Let me just say, as some of you already know, I didn't want to go. Never gone, really didn't know what to expect. I am so happy I went. I know the Lord was there with me, and besides just spending time in my Bible, the main part I got out of it, was the next generation isn't walking with the Lord.
The next month or until August is going to be really busy! My parents are coming!!!
Anyway, my camera has died, but when I am able to show pictures I have some big news to share. So I hope you can read this and I will be back, hopefully!
May all your X's be crossed and sending hugs across the pond.

Blessings!!
I wanted to journal this and remember my many blessings.
1. The SUN! It is amazing what a little sunshine does for your spirit.
2. My son, I had a wonderful lunch with him. He makes me laugh and he is just a true blessing. (To remember later when he is driving me crazy!)
3. People that do really nice things for me. This book I agreed to read for an author, I expected a paperback ARC, and instead I got a hardback regular, awesome book!
4. Food in my belly --
Now, time to go outside, read and enjoy some of these blessings.
I hope you take time to remember your own!! Know that all of you are listed in mine every night. :)

Sunshine has arrived!!!!!!!!!!!
Just in time too. We FROZE at the game last night. Did I mention we froze???? They lost, but did well. The score was 13-15. Awesome effort though!!! Jeff took his final test for the 1st year apprenticeship and he got a 98%!!!! YAY!!! Now he is off for the summer. Double yay!!!
I am about to go take Hunter out to lunch. He never stays home with me sick, unlike the princesses (hahaha) so I thought it would be nice to eat with him. My MIL sent me $20 for Mother's Day (isn't that super awesome??) so I thought I would use it to get him something special for all his hard work this year. He turned in EVERY one of his assignments, almost always 4 days early!!!
Tonight we have another game. At least the sun will warm things up a bit!
I got a little bit stitched last night. I love how the little quilt pieces are going to look, as well as the different baskets, don't you?

After looking at yesterday's post and today's it seems I haven't gotten very far, but each basket has 3 or 4 different colors for the shading, so it is a bit more time consuming!
hugs across the miles, may all your X's be crossed and may the frogs stay on the other side of the pond!

Success!!!
We have success! The house is clean for the week. HOORAY! I really wanted to get it done before this weekend, because Sat we are going to brunch and then hiking for the day, so Sat wouldn't be a good day. Then of course Sunday we have church in the morning and evening, and fit the race from Sat night somewhere in there.
It is STILL raining, so I don't know if there will be a softball game tonight. They will never get to play at this rate!!!
Well I worked a bit more on my I love baskets and quilts WIP.

Well off to enjoy an hour of quiet before the children come home and we start the evening!!

Happy May!!!
Happy May to everyone! I keep wanting to post but it seems life is flying by right now, and so here, now I am!
A LOT has been happening here at the Speelman house. Lex is playing softball, her coach up and quit so Jeff is helping out another dad coach. Hunter is in swim lessons and also we go swimming every Wed afternoon. Busy busy! We had a taco dinner at church to help fund the young adults to go to camp this summer. It is $185 per youth. Please pray that everyone gets to go.
Here are some pictures of the kids enjoying the pool:

Our weather hasn't been that great. I hope all this rain makes everything soooooo green!!!
I finished SMO Summer Side: (sorry it is sideways)

and last week sometime I started CCS I love baskets and quilts from the June 2009 magazine. Here is my progress:

Here is what it will look like when it is finished:

I love the blues in it!!!
Today we have swimming and then softball practice, and church! WHEW!!! I woke up with a migraine, I didn't even hear any of my family getting ready for the day. So I must have been out of it. I got up and took a shower, and feel a bit better. I might just stay home tonight though and sleep, so it doesn't come back with a vengenance.
hugs across the miles and stitch lots! XOXOXO
