Review: Pie Town

Lynne Hinton is an excellent author. With that being said, I love stories in the south. This one takes place in New Mexico. Now don't get me wrong, stories can be anywhere but I love the southern feel and charm.

This one just seemed like we knew where it was headed, and it wrapped up with a neat bow.

The characters are likable, not lovable. I couldn't get close to any of them. They all were just within reach of my fingertips but not attainable. Oris did make me laugh, but I wonder where his humor went at the end? Gone.. just like the storyline.

Of course, in Pie Town, no pies! Maybe just like George and Trina blew in, maybe things will "blow" differently in Pie Town and things will change. However it might take some pretty drastic things for the hard-hearted citizens of Pie Town to change. I think the town I live in is JUST like this town however, it made me laugh to think there could be some of those same people here! Very hard to get to know, they just want life and everything to stay the same and no one new for heaven's sake!

The recipes in back are excellent and the reading group guide makes it easy to read and enjoy with your local book club!
