Review: How to Eat a Cupcake

How to Eat a CupcakeHow to Eat a Cupcake by Meg Donohue
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Annie and Julia used to be great friends. However, when Julia spreads rumors about Annie senior year of high school, which gets Annie in huge trouble, they stop speaking to one another. Annie's mom was the cook for Julia's family but she passed away suddenly one day shortly after the girls went to college.

Annie loves to bake cupcakes and Julia's mom Lolly has asked Annie to cater a luncheon she is having. Julia is engaged but tastes Annie's cupcakes and falls in love. Julia has a splendid idea. She is going to use her money and help Annie start a cupcake shop.

Annie agrees, even though she thinks maybe she is crazy for taking this chance with Julia. There are several mysteries that will keep you hooked. One being where is Annie's mom's cookbook? Another one is, they started Treat in the Mission, not the best neighborhood and someone is vandalizing the shop, writing You are not wanted here and various stuff. Another mystery is what happened in the hospital and why is Julia keeping it a secret?

Lots going on and Donohue keeps you totally engaged every single second! You will love this book and it will also make you crave a delicious cupcake so beware! You won't know at the end who is your favorite character, I loved them all, well all BUT Jake!

I received a copy of this book for free from netgalley in exchange for an honest review.
